Privacy Policy
MotionArt · Last updated: July 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MotionArt ("MotionArt," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when a merchant installs and uses the app on Shopify (the "Service"). By installing the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Shop information: your Shopify store domain, plan level, and the authentication tokens needed to access your store via the Shopify API.
- Google sign-in details: when you verify your Google account (a one-time step required to unlock the app and prevent free-trial abuse), we store the verified email address and Google account identifier associated with your shop. This is the merchant's own account information — we never collect your customers' data.
- Product catalog data: product titles, types, tags, and the existing product images you select for generation.
- Uploaded and generated media: images you upload for generation (for example a person photo for Virtual Try-On), the AI-generated images the Service produces, and metadata about each generation (template or model selected, timestamp, credit cost).
- Billing records: purchase history for credit plans, processed through Shopify's billing APIs. We never collect or store your payment card details — Shopify handles all payment processing.
- Usage data: basic app usage and diagnostic logs (feature usage, error reports) used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How we use your information
- Generate the product imagery you request;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Process billing for credit plans and subscriptions;
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-party processors
To provide the Service, we share data with the following providers, acting as our data processors:
- fal.ai — AI image generation infrastructure. Your selected product images and prompts are sent here to produce the outputs you request.
- Cloudinary — storage and delivery of uploaded and generated media.
- Google Cloud (Firestore) — application database for shop, job, and billing records.
- Google — sign-in verification (OAuth), limited to your email address and account identifier.
- Anthropic — brand-style analysis of the product page text you choose to submit.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics.
These providers process data solely to deliver the Service and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations. We do not sell your data to any third party.
4. Shopify customer data
The Service operates on your product catalog, not on your customers. We do not collect, store, or process protected customer data (names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, or order details of your store's customers).
5. Data retention and deletion
Shop records, generation history, and generated media are retained while the app is installed so you can review, publish, and reuse your results. When you uninstall the app, your Shopify access token is deleted immediately. You may request full deletion of your remaining data at any time (see Contact below).
GDPR mandatory webhooks: as required by Shopify, we implement the
customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact webhooks and
honor them within the timeframes Shopify requires, except where we are legally required to retain specific
records (such as billing history for tax purposes).
6. Data security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted internal access — to protect the data we hold. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International data transfers
Our processors may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is a business tool intended for Shopify merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Contact us
